Ski Conditions

since i hadn't seen this in any reports i'll throw this up.

Be wary of any open areas below treeline in the Whistler area. Over the last few days I've been finding surface hoar to sz 9 down 45 cm, standing proud on approx 10cm of facets which overlie the ice crust. As the new snow is now starting to settle into a slab, today I was able to easily cut rolls and started a healthy sz 1.5 on a 38 degree pitch with 2 stomps on the rollover.
While breaking trail, every step was radiating cracks and we could feel the facets collapsing beneath our feet.

Otherwise the ski quality is fantastic right now. Great turns can be had but ride conservatively!
