Avalanche Conditions

14th skier down a steep face at 2250 m triggered the Jan 29 surface hoar layer which can be found down 45 cm. Skier was able to traverse out of the avalanche and was not involved.

Test profiles dug pre-avalanche on either side of the avalanche location on the same aspect and elevation gave no results to compression tests. Skier activity in relatively similar terrain in nearby areas over the past four days have revealed no indications of reactivity.
