Climbing Conditions

Some photos are attached of various peaks in the Banff, Yoho and Kootenay National Parks that show the current conditions.

In general, most glaciers have very little snow left on them and the remaining crevasse bridges are becoming quite thin. Anticipate that any approaches involving glacier travel may have changed from previous years and might require a bit more time or alternate route choices.

Rockfall from gullies or faces with any snow and ice left on them has been frequent and is worth trying to avoid. Rock ridges are dry and in good shape.

Enjoy the summer climbing!
