Climbing Conditions

Climbed the NW Direct (McKay Route) on Tower of Babel yesterday. The route is in generally good condition, with the same increased amount of loose rock on ledges that others are observing this season possibly due to the amount of rain we’ve been having. The crux of the day was finding parking, with the Moraine Lake lot full at 530am (!!).

We were able to get a look at some of the other conditions in the valley. The East Ridge of Temple is in good shape, and it’s still holding snow on the traverse for the Black Towers bypass, though not on the towers themselves. On the other side, Tuzo, Deltaform and Neptuak were still holding snow, both old snow on the summit ridges and a light dusting of fresh. Photos attached.
