Ski Conditions

My friend Takeshi and I just completed Southern Cariboo Traverse yesterday.
Here is summary.

Trip Date
4/25-5/2, 2017

Weather
Generally unsettled spring weather, some degree of precipitation everyday but nothing major.
4/29 15-25cm overnight and another 5-10cm on 5/1 with moderate westerly wind.
Temps stay relatively cool but not cold (Low -10, High 5)

Snowpack
Spring snow pack, supportive MFcr on Southerly aspect to the ridge top,
Breakable crust to dry pow on Northerly aspect depends on elevation.
Minor wind effect on the ridge.
New snow bonded well to those interface.

Seems southern part's ( South from Lake McAndrew) snow was stronger than Premier range.
We saw more faceted snow in upper snow pack in Premier range.

Avalanche Obs
No notable Avalanches during our trip. Lots stuff on South side has already slid.

Glaciers
Very good coverage up to 4m+

Route Info
We followed "Summits and Icefield" description the whole way.

- Could ski down the crux (descent to Raush Glacier) this year.
Steep entrance (183E442N) but doable. See photo.

- Was tricky to Trio Lake, need to stay high (1900m ish) to avoid huge cliff below.

- Took high plateau ending, Worked great.

Misc
Flew by Yellow head heli from Valemount, cost about $770
There is no bridge acrossing Miledge Creek down low (778 E 960N).
