Climbing Conditions

Climbing Conditions

ACMG Alpine Rock Mentorship day:

A group of ACMG members skill-shared alpine guiding techniques in the broken terrain beneath and east of the Crab Area on Monday, Oct 22.

Conditions on the south aspect gave us a cold morning (-1°c), but as temperatures rose mid day (17°c), we enjoyed dry, pleasant conditions as did another party of sport climbers. This time of year, think 4 seasons, even on sunny days; prepare for a wide temperature range as you travel through the mountains. Short days and sub zero temperatures are the reality.

Our group experienced a few pieces of natural rockfall, something again to be aware of with wide temperature fluctuations. (Insert blatant promotion of helmet use here).

A great day of networking and skill-sharing amongst colleagues!

Safe and happy climbing,
