Climbing Conditions

Climbing Conditions

It's COLD! -5c and 25-40 kmh winds this morning on Mt Lefroy. At first we thought it felt like October but then decided it was more like February. Approximately 5cm of new snow was bonded well to the old snow and ice in that location but there are thin windslabs in lots of places and they may not all be so well bonded.

As of this afternoon at 5:30 snow was still sticking to North facing terrain and the ice so routes like Hungabee will be greasy for at least another day.
