My guest and I enjoyed good conditions today on "Professors".
Despite having studded bike tires we stashed our bikes a few hundred meters before the trail head kiosk and put our crampons on to help with icy conditions.None of the pitches had flowing surface water and the ice was generally plastic.
We chose to carry a can of bear spray during the approach given the time of year and proximity of the climb to a
denning bear (closed trophy wall area).
