Climbing Conditions

Scott Mckay and I climbed the Kain route on Louie yesterday and found, over all dry conditions on the accent and small snow patches and running water on the lower rappels.

On the approach once you exit the forest and start the traverse below the impressive east face of Mt Edith, the winters Avalanche cycle took a large swath out of that forest, making for easy open walking, Once you jump over all the broken down tree's on the sides.

OF NOTE* bolts on the perran variation seem to come and go. Currently there are 3-4 bolts missing that have hangers removed and have been hammered in. In the crack the pitons still exists and some gear options.

Bolt belays seem to all be in place and in good repair.

On decent there is currently snow from just below the rappels that goes all the way down to valley bottom, makes for a speedy decent back to the valley!

Enjoy!
