Avalanche Conditions

Skied to just below the summit head wall today, we saw 7 new Na avalanches 24-72 hrs old mostly on steeper terrain and some were triggered randomly by light loads within the storm snow 30-40 cm deep, light wind loading. We found the Early Jan sh down 35-40 cm which was reactive to compression tests in the mod range, well preserved crystal. We had some whumpfiing at TL and stayed away from steeper pitch's at that elevation band.

Excellent ski quality, the alders BTL could use a 50cm bath but still manageable.

CU in the hills!
