Ski Conditions

Spent a cold, but sunny and calm day guiding on hwy 93N. Ski conditions are very good below treeline with 30cm of ski penetration in soft powder. At treeline and above, there is widespread wind effect with matching ski and avalanche qualities (photo).

We saw numerous examples of recent slab avalanches in the alpine on most aspects. Some were fresh wind slabs with the new snow, and others were on the deeper layers.
