Ski Conditions

Good Skiing to 1000 m in March!

Ski Conditions

Was up in the Sky Pilot area today, mostly in the trees with deteriorating visibility and light snowfall as the day went on. The recent storm snow (about 50 cm at the end of the road) is settling slowly. Made for cream cheese trail breaking except where avalanche debris, which was surprisingly widespread, and buried by about 10-15 cm on average. There was a widespread avalanche cycle that occurred during the recent storm, and 2 Size 2s, from yesterday’s brief appearance of the sun, off lower Habrich, putting debris near the end of the logging road just past the end of the groomed.

Surprisingly good skiing well below tree line for March on the coast, getting better in the last steep pitch down to 1000 m. Northerly aspects should remain good for a few more days yet with the cool airmass we are in!

Enjoy the weekend!
