Climbing Conditions

Conditions are coming back into shape again after a wet and cool period over the last few weeks. Sir Donald should be mostly dry after today. The approach still has a small patch of snow to cross before gaining the ridge, an ice axe could be required if freezing overnight temperatures formed a crust. Snow patches remain in places on the North side of the ridge. Reports from the Hermit side of the valley are of wet rock and slushy snow, this should change with the forecast good weather. Watch for afternoon build up bringing the potential for lightning.
