Avalanche Conditions

Avalanche Conditions

A historic widespread avalanche cycle is being observed today in the Banff, Yoho, Kootenay regions. Avalanches up to size 3.5 are stepping down to the weak basal facet layers. In many cases they are reaching maximum historical runout zones. We expect this to continue through the weekend with additional winds and snow in the forecast.
